Human Trafficking Awareness Event on April 12, 2013
The UN crime-fighting office announced that 2.4 million people across the globe are victims of human trafficking at any one time, and 80 percent of them are exploited as sexual slaves. Please Join TJSL’s La Raza Law Students Association along with The Center for Global Legal Studies in a panel discussion to help raise awareness regarding Human Trafficking. “Exposing Human Trafficking” will focus on both national and global aspects and concerns that are central to this epidemic. Panelists include: Federal Defender and adjunct Professor Kris Kraus, U.S Attorney Alessandra P. Serano, Director of Bilateral Safety Corridor Coalition Marisa Urgarte, and Sheriff Joe Mata Supervisor of the North County regional task force on human trafficking. Panel will be moderated by Professor Susan Tiefenbrun. This event will take place on Friday April 12, 2013 from 5pm to 7pm at Thomas Jefferson School of Law in Room 323. 1.5 MCLE credits are offered.
