Carolina Martin Ramos has practiced immigration law for over 11 years. She started her legal career as a Public Defender and Immigration Counsel for the State of New Mexico Public Defender office in Santa Fe, NM. Carolina has worked in nonprofit, private practice, state, and federal government positions. In San Diego County, she has worked as a supervisory attorney with the ABA IJP and the Director of the Victims of Crime Program at Casa Cornelia Law Center. Currently, she serves as Co-Executive Director of Comunidad Maya Pixan Ixim where she is able to work with Mayan leaders to provide legal services to Mayan migrants in the U.S. and human rights defenders in Mayan territories in Guatemala. Also, Carolina serves as Secretariat of Ethics and Security for the Congress of Nations and States. Carolina is available to provide consulting and training related to her areas of expertise and technical training on working with Indigenous migrants and asylum and refugee laws.
