SDLRLA is consistently recognized  for its outstanding work in the community.

Outstanding Service by Legal Aid Society of San Diego

Legal Aid Society of San Diego has awarded it the Outstanding Service Award since 2011. This award recognizes a commitment on behalf of SDLRLA for its members to contribute at least 12 hours of pro bono legal services to LASSD Pro Bono Program per month.

State Bar of California Diversity Awards

The State Bar of California Diversity Awards were established in 2002 by the Board of Trustees to recognize outstanding efforts made by a bar association, law firm, organization or attorney to promote diversity in the legal profession, in their organization or among their peers. The awards are given each year at a reception held during the State Bar’s Annual Meeting. Each year the State Bar solicits nominations from across California. All submissions are reviewed by the State Bar’sCouncil on Access & Fairness, which provides recommendations to the Board of Trustees.

SDLRLA was proud to be named the Bar Association recipient for 2014. SDLRLA Executive Committee members attended the Diversity Reception held September 13, 2014, as SDLRLA was honored. Participating in the presentation was Chief Justice Cantil-Sakauye, Prof. Tino Cuellar, Cal. Bar President Luis Rodriguez and civil rights icon Dolores Huerta.
