The San Diego La Raza Lawyers Association Public Benefit Fund is a cornerstone of community empowerment, dedicated to fostering justice, equality, and opportunity for the Latino/a/x and diverse communities in San Diego. Established in August 2022 as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, the Public Benefit Fund supports transformative initiatives like Project L.E.A.D., the Trial Advocacy Program, and En La Comunidad, which collectively uplift fifth graders, high school students, and their families through education, legal advocacy, and community outreach. By leveraging the expertise of committed lawyers, the Public Benefit Fund addresses critical needs such as tenant rights, immigration, and employee rights, ensuring that underserved populations have the resources and support to overcome challenges. This volunteer-driven Public Benefit Fund invites collaboration from those passionate about making a meaningful impact in the region.
PROJECT L.E.A.D., co-hosted by SDLRLA and the San Diego County District Attorney’s Office, is a ten-week program inspiring fifth graders to make positive choices. Legal Enrichment And Decision-making teaches values, conflict resolution, and tools to resist peer pressure, fostering personal growth and responsibility.
The SDLRLA Trial Advocacy Program (TAP) supports six high schools by improving or creating mock trial programs, connecting students with professional role models, and preparing them to compete in the San Diego County High School Mock Trial Competition, fostering skill development and legal education.
En La Comunidad’s purpose is to enlighten our community about their legal rights and options by organizing events that deliver vital information and resources in areas like education, tenant rights, immigration, and employee rights. Many of our lawyers pursued law to aid others in overcoming obstacles they encountered.

En La Comunidad’s (In the Community) goal is to inform our community about their legal rights and options by creating events to provide information and resources in areas of need, such as education, tenant rights, immigration, and employee rights. Many of our lawyers went into the field of law to help other people overcome obstacles that they overcome on their journey. Our lawyers are experienced and knowledgeable in their respective fields and look forward to the opportunity to advocate for good people in unfortunate situations.
