SPEAKERS/PANELISTS
Emily Howe, Esq., is an attorney and advisor working on cases of public interest based in San Diego, California. Her career has focused on civil and human rights, including excessive use of force, workplace fairness, anti-trafficking, and policy solutions that further access to justice.
Stewart Kwoh, Esq., is the Founder and past President and Executive Director of Asian Americans Advancing Justice-Los Angeles. Kwoh is a nationally recognized leader and expert in race relations, Asian American studies, nonprofit organizations and philanthropies, civil rights, and legal services. “His advocacy work includes high profile cases such as the fight for civil rights in the infamous murder of Vincent Chin and the fight against the trafficking/enslavement of 72 Thai women.”
Gilbert Gee, Ph.D., is a Professor in the Department of Community Health Sciences at the Fielding School of Public Health at UCLA. His research focuses on the social determinants of health inequities of racial, ethnic, and immigrant minority populations using a multi-level and life course perspective.
