Seeking Volunteers to serve as Attorney Scorers for the San Diego County High School Mock Trial Competition!

Be part of San Diego County’s only high school Mock Trial Competition sponsored by the San Diego County Bar Association and the Superior Court. The program enters its 8th year and the program has doubled its high school participation. This year there are 28 local high schools participating in the competition. The winner of the competition represents San Diego County in the California State competition in San Jose.

Attorney volunteers are needed to score this year’s competition. Attorney Scorers are given a set of criteria for rating the teams numerically. The criteria include the quality of the students’ presentations, their grasp of the law and court procedures, and their understanding of the case itself. This is a great experience working with judges and colleagues. The time commitment is approximately two hours per trial, and we encourage you to score as many trials as you choose. This year student’s will be arguing a murder trial featuring a pretrial argument on the Fourth Amendment.
