The Return of Neighborhood Law School!  Volunteers needed to make legal presentations! The San Diego La Raza Lawyers Association and the Earl B. Gilliam Association are proud to again offer a fantastic free community program, “Neighborhood Law school,”  whereby free legal courses are provided to the residents of San Diego County at the Jacobs Center for Neighborhood Innovation (404 Euclid Ave., San Diego, CA 92114). Scorers Needed!

Seeking Volunteers to serve as Attorney Scorers for the San Diego County High School Mock Trial Competition! Be part of San Diego County’s only high school Mock Trial Competition sponsored by the San Diego County Bar Association and the Superior Court. The program enters its 8th year and the program has doubled its high school participation. This year there are 28 local high schools participating in the competition. The winner of the competition represents San Diego County in the California State competition in San Jose. Attorney volunteers are needed to score this year’s competition. Attorney Scorers are given a set of criteria for rating the teams numerically. The criteria include the quality of the students’ presentations, their grasp of the law and court procedures, and their understanding of the case itself. This is a great experience working with...

Project L.E.A.D’s Purpose: Project L.E.A.D stands for Legal Enrichment And Decision-making and is a crime prevention program designed to teach fifth graders positive values, self esteem and other valuable life lessons.  How much of your time is needed (less than one hour): We need your participation to make this program a success!  With the exception of two dates listed below, you need only donate less than an hour.  It would be ideal if you could volunteer on several dates, but it’s not required. The San Diego County Mock Trial Competition Needs You! The Mock Trial Competition places high school students in a simulated courtroom setting where they assume the roles of lawyers and witnesses in a hypothetical case. The winning team will go on to represent San Diego County at the California Mock Trial Finals in March 2014. Interested but want more information? Please attend the Coaches Info/Training Session which will be held on Monday 10/21/13 at the Hall of Justice, 3rd Floor, Conference Rooms 363 A&B from 12- 1:30 pm.
